Artist: Alex Barrett
Medium: Powder-Coated Aluminum
Location: Northgate St, opposite Olathe Memorial Cemetery
Description: My work is inspired by the term "biomorphic." I begin with living elements found in Nature—seeds, pods, and vines—and weave them together in an organic abstraction that takes on a life of its own. The work reflects upon the origins of species, our unified source of creation. We all share the same origins but upon progressing out into the world, we naturally evolve into uniquely diverse forms.

Description: The vibrancy of coneflowers catches our attention from mid to late summer. This perennial attracts pollinators, provides medicinal qualities, deep tap roots of 5-6 feet deep, and is drought resistant. These beauties remind that a deep foundation is the key to resilience and longevity.

Medium: Bronze
Location: Black Bob Park
Description: Natural Wonders invites us to explore our relationship with nature. A curious boy peers through a spyglass while resting atop a turtle, a symbol of Earth. Animal tracks, a hare, and a cicada reflect nature’s rhythm and interconnection. Together, these elements remind us that through awareness and care, we can preserve the natural world for generations.
